Artist Statement: “The dark somber tonal hues envelopes this portraiture, starkly contrasting Saint Charbel’s stoic yet warm and weathered facial features framed by his majestic platinum beard and his hood symbolising the cloth and the decades he gave in deep solitary meditation high up in the mountains of Lebanon; his bowed head aglow with his pristinely pure energetic halo….in deep prayer, meditating for ever-lasting peace and love over his beloved motherland symbolically represented by the cedar tree healing in its own glow.
